best wine bar bank

There is no better place for drinking wine than in the sunshine. Some find daylight drinking a sign of trouble, but we prefer to see it as a sign of a pretty darn good day. And with warmer weather on the way, it’s time to check out a wine bar or two and sample their sunny spots while you sip some tipple and munch on some snacks. Located on the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail, Morgan Hill’s Bubbles Wine Bar & Bistro (17105 Monterey St., Morgan Hill) was once a bank that has been remodeled as a wine cellar. There’s half-a-dozen patio tables shaded by striped umbrellas, and a happy hour on weekdays from 4 – 6 p.m. for $5 glasses and $5 small plates. Just across the road from Pleasanton’s shady Lions Wayside Park, the interior at The Cellar Door (4469 Railroad Ave., Pleasanton) is nice enough but if you can grab a seat out front, you can pair that rosé and live music with a bit of East Bay sunshine. There are a bunch of small plates and a wine list spanning 30 Central Coast, Napa, Sonoma and other California wines.

The prize for best-named Bay Area wine bar goes to Claudine’s Wine Experience (20490 Saratoga Los Gatos Rd., Saratoga), which sounds like a movie about middle-aged lady on a bender.

lg smart wine singaporeApparently the bar, made of oak, is some 200 years old and originated in England, before moving to New York, Oregon and an Apple executive’s home in the Bay Area. You can order by the two-ounce taste, glass or bottle, or mix and match your own personal flight. Benicia’s Chill (362 1st St., Benicia) is a long, narrow spot on the main drag of town where laid-back locals and tourists mix on the patio out front or around the copper-topped bar.

The patio is sheltered and makes a great people-watching perch. Pay $29 for two glasses of wine, plus one charcuterie platter, Tucked into a courtyard at Campbell’s Pruneyard, Little Wine Counter (1875 S. Bascom Ave., Suite 560, Campbell) has an intimate patio festooned with black-and-white striped umbrellas. The patio is so popular you should probably reserve a spot. They have a rotating list of some 20 wines and a truly decadent truffle mac ‘n’ cheese with bacon ($8). Underdog Wine Bar (4590 Tesla Rd., Livermore) is a chic attachment to Livermore’s Concannon Winery. Arbors shade the outdoor tables and the wines come from pretty much everywhere, which is sort of rare at a winery. There are plenty of tasting options, including a “flamenco” trio ($11) of Spanish albarino and tempranillo wines. The food, provided by On the Vine Catering, is pretty decent too. Try the roast beef sliders ($13). You won’t miss the stone facade on San Jose’s Vintage Wine Bar (Santana Row, Suite 1040, San Jose), mainly because it comes from a church in Montpellier, France.

It fits in quite well with the wannabe-European boulevard of Santana Row. There’s a patio where a colorful mosaic tile fountain serves as backdrop and oasis right in the thick of things. There’s a range of wine flights with names like “Party Chardy!!!” ($26) and “Sunday Cabby Sunday” ($26), plus a menu of small plates.Welcome to O Chateau! We’re all about good wine and good fun! Amongst the wine loving community, O Chateau has become a small institution in Paris! We

were very honored to be named “Best Wine Bar in Paris” and to be the first wine bar in Paris to obtain the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence. With 50 wines by the glass and over one thousand by the bottle, our wine list is a treasure, which we love to share! No shortage of good wines at O Chateau, and always a great team to keep things both interesting and fun! The wine bar opens daily at 4pm and is a great place both for a (few) drink(s) and for dinner! Our restaurant (which is really our wine bar, let’s face it :-)) serves a selection of homemade, seasonal small dishes. They’re great to share (or not) and make for a truly interesting experience where you can multiply the food and wine pairings throughout the evening! We were honored by several French restaurant guides and like to believe that the great food we serve is the best kept secret at O Chateau!!
