At this elevation hot days and cold nights allow the grapes to ripen whilst still preserving acidity.  The soils are quite different between the two areas. In Mendoza exists  primarily alluvial sand deposited from Andes runoff water while Fairplay is well known for it’s  deeper Shaver series sandy loam featuring large amounts of decomposed granite from the bedrock below and ranging in depth from 5-10 feet. The vineyard is not certified, but it has been farmed organically for the past three years. Petite Pearl, a new grape variety, makes a smooth semi-dry rosé wine with bright notes of red currant and raspberry. It’s a richly flavored dark rosé, and a brand-new wine to our line-up! Come have a taste soon. Note: you may find some natural sediment in this wine. You may want to pour gently to leave it behind in the shoulder of the bottle. Varietal: 100% Petite Pearl grown in our vineyard. The 2015 Marquette is a robust dry red wine. Marquette has rich notes of black currant, black cherry, and ripe dark plums.
With smooth tannins, it finishes with a lingering spice. Suggested pairings: With steaks, sausages, stews, and other hearty meals. Let it breathe well before enjoying, either with an aerator or by decanting in advance. Varietal: Made from Marquette grapes grown in our own vineyard $17.99 Black Sparrow is a bright and lively dry white wine with apple and melon notes and a crisp finish. Suggested pairings: With seafood, poultry, pasta, or hearty veggie dishes. Varietals: Louise Swenson, Prairie Star, & Adalmiina, all grown in our own vineyard. La Crescent is an aromatic white with vibrant flavors of pear and citrus.  It is semi-dry with a refreshing finish.  This wine will engage your taste buds completely– the La Crescent grape’s characteristic boldness makes it a great partner with boldly flavorful dishes.
